Hit Rock Bottom?!
Dear Darling,
Happy hump day!
I had a completely different newsletter planned for you today but decided that I wanted to share this instead.
After a late meeting yesterday I headed home and took a long walk around our block. Thanks to my best friend, I’ve started obsessing over getting my daily steps in!
After meeting my goal, I went inside and sat down to watching Bridesmaids. Kristen Wiig is a total trip in this movie! I’d seen it before but I'd forgotten about this scene when Annie (Kristen Wiig) finally hits rock bottom.
At this point, she’s had to close down her business, she’s the worst maid of honour EVER, she's ruined her relationship with her best friend, she gets kicked out of her apartment (she's living with her mom!), and screwed up her chances of being with a really great guy!
Then she gets a little pep talk from Megan (Melissa McCarthy)...make sure to watch the clip here before reading the rest of my email!!
I’ve been there. At the end of 2014, I was feeling low and unsure of what direction I wanted to taking in my business. I was that girl sitting on her couch watching Netflix, literally eating my feelings (half a large Papa John’s pizza to be exact!).
The truth is, life is rough. It’s even tougher when you’re running your own business. Our dreams won’t be handed to us on a silver platter.
Megan says something brilliant to Annie in the clip...
"YOU'RE YOUR PROBLEM, AND YOU'RE YOUR SOLUTION."
You were created to make a BIG impact in this world so fight with all your might to achieve your greatest dreams! The great thing about hitting rock bottom, like Annie, is that you can only go up from there.
If you’re feeling lost, confused, or like you’ve hit rock bottom…don’t fret darling, Beth. It’ll get better! You’ll see.
Just keep fighting and stay persistent.
To believing in the impossible,
