The One Thing You're Forgetting to Love in Your Business
Happy Valentine’s Day, Beth!
As entrepreneurs, it's so easy to acknowledge love for what we do, our clients, our team members, but sometimes we forget to love this one thing!
I bet you get so busy working on your to-do list, sending emails, jumping on Facebook Live, meeting with clients that by the end of the day, you’re pretty drained.
Although I know you LOVE what you do, sometimes you forget to put yourself first.
YES! I’m talking about loving YOURSELF.
Afterall, you’re the CEO of your business.
If you don’t take care of you than how the heck can you expect to run a thriving business when your energy tank is running out?
Last year, I made a commitment to take care of my body and mind. I knew if I wanted to show up as the best version of myself for my business and my clients, then something was going to have to change in my daily lifestyle.
I started going to the gym (I went at my own pace).
I blocked out time to listen to podcasts.
I began to learn how to cook healthier.
I made time to read the Bible, self-development and business books.
I also set aside time to do more fun stuff like coffee dates with my favorite girlfriends!
I feel better than ever!
And, no, I’m not always perfect at eating healthy or always making it to the gym but I’ve made taking care of myself a priority and that’s the first step.
If you haven’t, here’s three tips to help you get started!
1. Make More "Me" Time
If you want to make this shift, YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE TIME.
Show me your planner and I’ll tell you what you prioritize.
If you're not already blocking out time for yourself then you can forget about feeling great.
Expect to feel like you did when you worked at your 9-5.
Remember, you escaped working for someone else so you could have more freedom. Do it, take advantage of your freedom.
You’ll be surprised at how much more productive you'll be when you are making more time for you to enjoy your one life! (I actually see "me" time as a business task. Happy Beth = Thriving Business!)
2. Find What Energizes You
Take time to brainstorm and write down the actives you want to be doing more of. Maybe you want to pick up rock climbing, a cooking class, a new language, or take a weekend getaway.
Your options are endless.
Personally, I decided to spend more time at the gym last year so I could take advantage of those endorphins (hehehe)! This year I’m planning to either learn how to sew or take a ceramics class (I used to love ceramics in high school!).
The point is to do something fun outside of your business.
You’re not just a CEO, you’re an incredible woman who deserves a break from her business to just be you!
3. Schedule It In
Everything I mentioned above is great and all but it doesn’t work unless you put it into action!
For me, the best way to do this was to schedule in my fun activities so I can check it off my to-do list. Like I said, this is a business task to me!
I give myself the priority to do one fun thing a day.
Some days it might be going to the beach (this one was easy when I was in Miami) and some days it might be as simple as going to a movie with a girlfriend!
The point is to take action and start putting yourself first.
I don’t know if you know this, but you are extraordinary.
Your wild dreams aren’t crazy and there's a reason you wanted to start your business.
It's your purpose and calling.
I encourage you to be your best self during your short time on earth and that means loving yourself enough to put yourself first.
I hope you’re spending today with someone you love whether it be with a boyfriend, husband, best friend or even yourself!
Lots of love,
- Beth & The SS Team xo
