Do THIS if you want to program your mind for success!
Hi Darling,
If you read my newsletter last week, this is your warning because I have another plant story for you today. 😂 I promise it's a good one!
Over the years, I've learned that moms know best. Each time I talk to my mom on the phone, there's no doubt that I leave with a nugget of wisdom to share with you, Darling.
I'm not afraid to admit it...I'm a mommy and daddy's girl. After my parents visit to England, I missed them so much that I called/texted them almost every day for a week!
I've been lucky enough to build a great relationship with both of them which has allowed me to learn so much from their experience and knowledge. And let me tell you, my parents have spent years counseling people in their local community. They both know a thing or two on mindset.
Before they came to visit, I was on the phone with my mom, she was watering her garden and pulling weeds from the yard because she wanted to prepare the garden before their big trip. My mom said...
"Weeds grow so fast and kill plants with out being watered but if you don't water the plants they die."
When she said that, something inside me clicked. I realized how true this was for my mindset.
As entrepreneurs, if we aren't regularly taking care of what going on in our minds, weeds will grow. Weeds don't need to be watered to grow, they just rise and destroy everything around them. Bad thoughts are like weeds. They can destroy the healthy mindset you've worked so hard to cultivate.
Darling, do you ever struggle with fear, doubt, confidence or any other bad thoughts?
I sure do, there were even seasons where I couldn't get my business off the ground because my mindset was in the gutters. I had zero confidence and was afraid to put my work out into the world. I was doing a disservice to myself and the potential clients who couldn't find me online (I was too afraid to be visible). Can you imagine the impact I could've had had I gotten my act together sooner?
It took a colleague calling me out on this for me to realize I needed to take care of my mindset. She was right. I'm thankful that she lovingly made me aware of the weeds growing in my garden. I had slowly forgotten to take time for myself to journal and read books that supported me in maintaining a healthy mindset. I had stopped doing the work needed to develop a healthy mindset as a female entrepreneur.
I've learned to consistently work on maintaining a healthy mindset so that I don't go through what I did in the past. Instead, I can be a strong and successful entrepreneur. After all, how can you expect someone to buy from you if you don't believe in what you're selling?
Darling, maybe you're struggling with confidence as a business owner or even fear around sales. You're not alone in this. We all have our challenges but the good news is that you can overcome them.
Start pulling the weeds in your garden and start working on developing a healthy mindset. Your future clients will thank you for it!
Cut down those weeds,
